Seen / Unseen
All images are 72x51", all are graphite on Arches hot press paper
These drawings are a series of studies from the series “Seen/Unseen”. This work is a meditation on the corporeal being - its physicality, form and volume. The graphite drawings from the “Seen/Unseen” series are abstractions of internalized structures within the human body. Derived from actual and invented body parts, the drawings take license with the actual forms, repeating them and representing them from many angles. Presented in a large scale format, they relate to human scale and through modeling, texture and almost ritualistic mark making they hint at complex and ambiguous sculptural forms.
